Why Your Employees Do Not Follow You

Why Your Employees Do Not Follow You

If you are a leader and your employees can't follow You, maybe eight of the following causes:

1. They don't like You

Research shows that we prefer to work with people who are not competent but better than competent but not good. If you treat people poorly, it is unlikely people will follow you, unless they are afraid to do so.
2. They don't trust you

I have a friend who is very fond of drinking beer. He always had a funny story and things the latest dirty things to tell. He reveals many things about other people. I love it, but I can't believe in him. I know that when he drank beer with someone else, maybe I will be the topic of conversation

Trust is much more important than love. I may not like a person in a business situation, but I can still do business with them without fear of being harmed or cheated.
3. They don't want to go to a place that You are leading

People will not want to go anywhere if there is no something which represents a positive change. They can even handle the challenge and sacrifice from a new venture if they believe there is a gift by the time they reach that goal.
A client of mine has a vision statement that is heavy on financial metrics, but did not say anything about the quality of life for employees or customers. I am not surprised that no one can remember what the vision of the company, or anyone who cares to accomplish it. Their vision statement becomes effective when it is rewritten to express the future for all stakeholders, including employees.
4. They don't know why they have to do what you ask for

Kim is a very young leader focused and task-oriented. He is best known for issuing orders and delegating assignments without explanation. He believes it makes more effective timing, and if anyone asks why, he calmly replied, "because I said so"
It is very difficult for children to digest and will be more difficult for adults. Find out why the request was made is something that any intelligent adult like. Leaders who are in a hurry, better to give orders rather than provide an explanation or provide context.
5. They don't think you have that they want

There are times when you can ask an employee to do something just because it is a condition of their employment. Don't, however, think that the pretext, rambling or hoax is fair play. This will damage your credibility. Be honest about the rewards with them or shortcomings.

If you reach the objectives of the Organization at the expense of members of your team, your legacy is a dictatorial leadership style. As the phrase "win win" may be, it is a principle of leadership that can still be followed.
6. They don't feel supported and or appreciated

Just because you pay people to work with you, doesn't mean they don't deserve to be in appreciation. A sincere thank you from you will make your team being motivated. And support signifies You care enough to remove the news and provide the necessary resources your team to win.
7. They do not have the training required to become a good follower

Phil was loved. When he takes someone to lead an important project, talks of his early always includes this question: "is there something you want to learn now to be successful?"

There is no measure of motivation that will help employees to work if he did not have the necessary skills. If you are leading a company in the field of technology, it is important for you to identify the skills required of employees to support you in the changes.
8. They do not respect you

People respect you because of who you are, Your competence, capabilities and relationships with others. That's why employees are reluctant to follow leaders who do not have the integrity and skills with others. By giving allegiance to someone who is not you respect, then you will lose a little bit of self-esteem in the process.

No one is perfect all the time, but those who followed would devote more time and effort to be the kind of leader that deserves to be followed.
