Money is a good thing, but it's not enough to motivate employees

Many smaller companies who think that if you get the right person, then they would not need external motivation. It may indeed be true for some top-class workers that can do everything above average. But unfortunately, most people are not like that. In the real world, the average employee is an employee on average. And the average employee need external motivation.



In General, people would work harder if they believe that there is an appreciation for the good results and the penalty for bad results. As well as the upper class workers. The company also needs to motivate them.

Compensation is the most commonly used it as motivation. This can work well, but the results of the study showed that the only people who will receive compensation in the near future which will be motivated to change their habits. When employees have received the money, then the strength of the motivation will be over quickly.

Money is very important, but we all want and need something more than just compensation. People also want to be recognized, contribute to becoming a winning team. This means that people want to know that their company is involved in the national program of business companies. They want to know that what they are doing to contribute to the success of the company and earned them their wish to have it recognized.

Take every opportunity to celebrate successes, even when the company is under the management of performance, must also acknowledge the fact. Even when the business was in jeopardy, and started walking towards the more positive, progress should be recognized. A compensation is a good thing, but based on experience, to become more effective, then there are a few things that need to be done.

Yes, there are several top class employees who don't need motivation, but most require it. Top class employees is very expensive. Small businesses in General will not be able to get it. Therefore, a small business must focus to motivate their employees in order to get good performance.
